What Does “Meridian” Mean?
In geography, a meridian is a line of longitude that helps us locate, measure, and understand places on the Earth. The word also refers to the moment when the Sun crosses the local meridian and reaches its highest position in the sky.
For us, the meridian represents more than a geographical line. It symbolises direction, connection, clarity, and aspiration— qualities that shape every meaningful academic journey.

At the Department of Geography, St. John’s College, Agra, we see education as a journey shaped by curiosity, experience, and ambition. Every student begins from a different point and develops their own academic and professional direction.
